Al Rahwan, an international freight firm, is a shipping company from Taif to Qatar that picks up your belongings at your Taif home or shop, loads them onto trucks and drives them east to Salwa, the one land border post between the Kingdom and Qatar, where Abu Samra waits across the line. Door to door, delivery to Doha or anywhere else in Qatar takes 3 to 5 days. Starting prices: a saloon on a car transporter from SAR 1,100, a single room of furniture from SAR 740, and a carton (30 kg at most) from SAR 120. Call 0568829975 to book or to check on a shipment.

Shipping to Qatar from Taif differs from shipping from Dammam or Riyadh in one important way: distance. The city sits on the highlands in the west of the Kingdom, and a shipment crosses the whole centre of the country before it reaches the Qatari border in the east. That is why Al Rahwan pays particular attention to three things on Taif shipments: packing that can survive a long journey which starts in damp mountain air and ends in coastal heat; smart scheduling that puts a small shipment on a consolidation run passing through Taif instead of making its owner pay for a whole truck; and paperwork that is complete before the truck leaves, so it does not stop at Salwa.
Typical Taif bookings on this route come from staff relocating for work in Doha who need their household furniture sent on, families sending belongings and gifts to relatives in Qatar, students travelling to study, farm and shop owners selling rose water, honey and highland produce to customers in Qatar, and people moving their car with them. Whichever of these describes you, the sections below cover it with prices, timings and paperwork.
How long does shipping from Taif to Qatar take? Route, crossing and transit time
A road shipment from Taif to Qatar takes 3 to 5 days from collection to delivery, and that includes the long drive across central Saudi Arabia and customs at both crossings. Qatar has a single land gateway: Salwa, out on the Kingdom's eastern fringe in Al-Udayd governorate, with Abu Samra facing it across the line, and it stays open day and night with no day off. So every truck that leaves Taif, whether its load is small or large, ends up at this one gateway.
The truck leaves Taif on the highway towards Riyadh, continues east towards Al-Ahsa and from there to Salwa. For comparison, using fixed figures: about 460 km separate Riyadh from Salwa; Riyadh to Doha is about 574 km; and Salwa or Abu Samra to Doha is only about 90 km. Jeddah is about 1,519 km from Doha, and Taif lies on the same corridor between Jeddah and Riyadh, so its road to Qatar is slightly shorter than Jeddah's and much longer than Riyadh's.
| Shipment type from Taif | Expected transit to Doha | Practical note |
|---|---|---|
| Household furniture or a room | 3 to 5 days | Add the hours of dismantling and packing on collection day |
| Cartons, suitcases and parcels | 3 to 5 days | Leave on the next consolidation run passing through Taif |
| Commercial goods by cubic metre | 3 to 5 days | Invoice and packing list needed before loading |
| Dedicated full truck | 3 to 5 days | Leaves straight from your door without waiting for other loads |
| Car on a car carrier | 2 to 4 days | A shared carrier leaves once its load is complete |
| Urgent air freight | 24 to 48 hours | Via Jeddah airport to Hamad International Airport |
A direct run east or a consolidation run via Jeddah and Makkah?
Shipments leave Taif for Qatar in one of two ways. The first is a direct run: a truck is loaded outside your home or warehouse and heads east straight away. It suits a whole home, a villa or a large commercial load, and it is priced as a dedicated full truck starting from SAR 2,300. The second is a consolidation run: the truck sets off from Jeddah or Makkah and passes through Taif on its way east, picking up cartons, suitcases, single rooms and small commercial orders, with the shippers sharing the cost of the road so that each pays according to their volume or weight.
This is why prices from Taif are not much higher than those from cities nearer the border despite the distance: Taif is not the end of a side road but a stop on the natural route between the west coast and the east of the Kingdom. When you book, the Al Rahwan team tells you when the next consolidation run is due. If it suits you, you save; if you are in a hurry, you choose a direct run or air freight.

What happens at Salwa and Abu Samra?
When the truck reaches the Salwa crossing, the shipment details registered in advance on the Fasah platform are matched against what it is actually carrying, and it may go through the scanner or have part of its load opened for inspection. It then crosses to Abu Samra, where entry formalities are completed with Qatar Customs through the Al Nadeeb system. The crossing never shuts for the night, so trucks are not held back until morning; the time spent there depends on complete paperwork and the length of the truck queue. After Abu Samra only about 90 km remain to Doha, so the final leg of the trip is the shortest and easiest.
What usually lengthens the journey is not the road but a missing document or an unclear contents list. That is why Al Rahwan checks the paperwork in Taif before loading and only moves the truck once it is complete, so it arrives at the crossing with everything that will be asked of it.
How much does shipping from Taif to Qatar cost?
Shipping from Taif to Qatar costs from SAR 7.5 a kilo for parcels and personal effects (charged on at least 5 kg), SAR 120 per carton weighing no more than 30 kg, SAR 740 for one room of furniture, SAR 2,780 for a 3-room home and SAR 1,100 for a saloon car on a car carrier. These are starting figures; the final price depends on actual volume, weight, floor, whether there is a lift and the Qatari city the shipment goes to, and an itemised quote reaches you before anything is loaded.
| Service from Taif to Qatar | Price starts from |
|---|---|
| Parcels or personal effects by weight, per kilo (at least 5 kg charged) | SAR 7.5 |
| Strong carton weighing up to 30 kg | SAR 120 |
| A single suitcase or travel bag | SAR 140 |
| Goods per cubic metre | SAR 415 per m³ |
| Partial economy furniture load | SAR 650 |
| One room or bedroom | SAR 740 |
| Home or flat of 3 rooms | SAR 2,780 |
| Full villa | SAR 6,350 |
| Saloon, carried on a car transporter | SAR 1,100 |
| SUV or 4×4, carried on a car transporter | SAR 1,390 |
| Luxury car, enclosed transporter | SAR 1,850 |
| Whole truck reserved for you | SAR 2,300 |
| Air freight, containers and pallets | Itemised quote on request |
The agreed price covers labour, the truck, lifting equipment and basic packing materials, so you will not find a separate line for cartons or blankets after loading. Extra services such as fitting a kitchen in Qatar, taking down large chandeliers or temporary storage are listed item by item in the quote before you approve it, so you know from the outset what you are paying for each service.
Worked examples from typical Taif bookings
These examples use the starting prices in the table so you can see roughly where your shipment sits before you call:
| Case | What is shipped | Calculation | Starts from |
|---|---|---|---|
| Student going to study in Doha | 3 cartons and 2 suitcases | 3 × 120 + 2 × 140 | SAR 640 |
| Personal items by weight | A 12 kg parcel | 12 × 7.5 | SAR 90 |
| Employee moving a bedroom and a car | Bedroom + saloon | 740 + 1,100 | SAR 1,840 |
| Family relocating to Qatar | 3-room home + saloon | 2,780 + 1,100 | SAR 3,880 |
| Rose water and honey shop owner | 4 m³ of goods | 4 × 415 | SAR 1,660 |
| Villa in Ash Shafa with a luxury car | Full villa + enclosed carrier | 6,350 + 1,850 | SAR 8,200 |
In the second example a small parcel is charged on its actual weight as long as it is above the 5 kg minimum; so a 3 kg parcel is billed at 5 kg. Note too that someone with 4 cubic metres of goods may find a dedicated full truck more suitable if they need a fixed date, because the difference between the two prices is not large and the timing of a dedicated truck is not tied to a consolidation run.
What pushes the price up or down?
- Volume before weight for furniture: sofas and wardrobes take up a lot of space even when light, so good dismantling reduces volume and lowers the price.
- Floor and lift: a fourth-floor flat with no lift needs more crew or an external lift, and this shows in the quote.
- Where the house is in Taif: homes in Al Hada, Ash Shafa and some farms are hard for a large truck to reach, so items are shuttled in a smaller vehicle to a loading point.
- The city in Qatar: Doha, Al Rayyan and Al Wakrah are the nearest; deliveries in the north or Dukhan are a little further.
- Type of run: a consolidation run is cheaper; a dedicated truck is faster and more flexible on dates.
- An accurate contents list: a clear list prevents delays at the crossing, and delays have a cost.
Moving furniture from Taif to Qatar
Homes in Taif are more varied than in almost any other city, and that shapes how furniture is moved. Districts such as Ash Shuhada, Al Faisaliyah and An Naseem have flats in mid-rise buildings; Al Hawiyah, Shihar and As Sayl As Saghir have villas and detached houses with large courtyards; Al Hada and Ash Shafa have summer homes and rest houses on narrow mountain roads; and the old quarters have stone houses with narrow doors and stairs. Before deciding on crew size and truck size, Al Rahwan asks for photos of the entrance, the stairs and the largest pieces, or sends someone to survey the home if the move is large.
| Size of move | Price starts from | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|
| Partial economy load | SAR 650 | Assorted pieces without full dismantling and refitting, on a consolidation run |
| One room or bedroom | SAR 740 | Bed, wardrobe and dressing table with accompanying cartons |
| Home or flat of 3 rooms | SAR 2,780 | Bedrooms, majlis, kitchen and appliances |
| Full villa | SAR 6,350 | Furniture over several floors, large majlis sets and sometimes garden pieces |

The stages of moving a home from Taif until it is reassembled in Doha
- Survey and condition report: the crew lists and photographs every piece and records any existing scratch or break before the move, so the report is a reference on delivery.
- Dismantling and numbering: beds, wardrobes and dining tables are taken apart, each part is numbered, and screws and hinges are kept in small bags taped to the piece itself.
- Packing by type of item: wood, glass, fabric and appliances each have their own method (details below).
- Bringing items down: by the stairs or by external lift from the balcony if the pieces are large and the building allows it.
- Loading the truck: heavy items at the bottom, appliances upright on their bases, and each group strapped with dividers between them.
- Delivery and assembly in Qatar: wrapping is removed and furniture is reassembled in place by number, and pieces are checked against the list.
Packing that copes with Taif mist and the heat of the road
Furniture often leaves a Taif home where the air is cool and damp, especially in Al Hada and Ash Shafa when the mist comes down, and then spends days in a truck through the open desert of Najd and the Eastern Province before it reaches the Qatari coast. That change leaves wood, mattresses and fabrics exposed to trapped moisture if they are wrapped while not completely dry. So Al Rahwan wipes pieces down and makes sure they are dry before wrapping, uses breathable covers for mattresses and majlis seating rather than airtight plastic alone, and adds moisture-absorbing sachets to cartons of clothes and books.
- Wood: thick moving blankets then reinforced plastic wrap, with cardboard or plastic corner guards.
- Screens and electronics: foam on every side then strong cardboard, so the foam absorbs any rubbing or vibration before it reaches the screen.
- Glass, mirrors and ornaments: two layers of bubble wrap and divided boxes, with very valuable pieces in made-to-measure wooden crates.
- Sofas and majlis seating: thick foam and clean covers, each set tied separately so fabric does not rub against wood.
- Kitchenware: packing paper for each item, then small cartons that are not too heavy to carry.
- The cartons themselves: new double-wall cartons sealed with wide tape and labelled with the room they belong to and their list number.
Al Rahwan also uses imported packing materials for pieces that need extra protection, such as padded covers for high-end furniture and clear protective film for glossy surfaces. Wooden furniture is checked before wrapping for any sign of insects such as woodworm or termites, because an insect wrapped with a piece travels with it to the new home and carries on the damage there; the piece is cleaned or its owner is told before shipping.
The dismantling and assembly team: carpenter, electrician and AC technician
It is not enough for a mover to carry a piece well; modern furniture combines metal, wood and special fixings that make it impossible to reassemble if they are lost. So on furniture moves Al Rahwan sends a carpenter responsible for bedrooms, wardrobes and wooden kitchens, taking them apart in Taif and rebuilding them in Qatar, an electrician who takes down chandeliers and light fittings, a technician who removes air conditioners, seals their pipes and protects the outdoor unit, and someone to disconnect taps and appliance connections. If the survey shows a minor fault in a piece, such as a sagging wardrobe door or a broken hinge, it can be repaired before shipping by agreement rather than getting worse on the road.
In Qatar the team reassembles what was taken apart in Taif, so the homeowner receives rooms ready for use rather than a pile of panels and cartons. Furniture is delivered with placement and assembly in Qatari cities, and pieces that need special fitting, such as a complete kitchen or air conditioners, are listed in the quote from the start.
Hydraulic lifts for high floors
Many homes in Taif are ground-floor or two-storey, but things are different on arrival. Doha, Lusail, West Bay and The Pearl have tall residential towers, where carrying furniture up or down the stairs puts both the crew and the pieces at risk, and lifts often cannot take large wardrobes or long sofas. This is where a hydraulic lift with an extending ladder, similar to a fire-engine ladder, is used: the ladder is extended to the flat's balcony, the piece is placed on its platform, and crew members wait at the top and bottom to receive it and set it down precisely. The lift needs the building management's approval and a safe place to stand, so it is arranged before delivery day.
Car shipping from Taif to Qatar
A car leaving Taif for Qatar rides on a long multi-deck transporter, which keeps it off the road and leaves its odometer unchanged. The car is inspected on collection, photographed from all four sides and any scratches are recorded; the crew then puts it under a protective cover, with a tie-down strap holding each wheel to the transporter deck, where it stays until delivery in Qatar. Expect the car at its Qatari address in 2 to 4 days.
| Transport type | Car | Starts from | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shared open car carrier | Saloon | SAR 1,100 | An everyday car for the best price |
| Shared open car carrier | SUV | SAR 1,390 | 4x4s and large family cars |
| Enclosed carrier | Luxury, sports or classic | SAR 1,850 | A car you want kept away from dust and direct sun |
A shared carrier takes several cars belonging to different owners, so the cost is split between them, but it leaves when its load is complete or its scheduled run is due. An enclosed carrier is a closed box that protects the car from dust, heat and small stones thrown up on the road, and it is the usual choice for new, luxury and rare classic cars. In both cases the car is never moved on a single flatbed or a tow truck, but on a transporter built for carrying cars over long distances.
Because many Taif districts cannot take a long transporter, the team agrees with you on a nearby loading point in a wide street or open yard; you drive the car there or the driver collects it from you. Anyone living in Al Hada or Ash Shafa brings the car down to the loading point in the city, as steep highland roads are not suitable for a multi-deck transporter.

Prepare your car before loading
- Empty the car of personal belongings and important papers; it is shipped empty and is not used to store other items.
- Keep fuel low; what it takes to drive from the transporter to a parking bay on arrival is plenty.
- Make sure the battery holds its charge and the tyres and handbrake are in order, since the car is driven up onto the transporter and off again.
- Remove detachable exterior accessories such as bike racks and protruding aerials.
- Note the mileage and take your own photos of the car as well as the team's.
- Have the registration, owner's ID, export certificate and plates ready, plus the bank letter if the car is financed.
Registering the car in Qatar after it arrives is done with the Qatari traffic authorities under the requirements in force there, including those relating to the car's specification and condition. That is why the Al Rahwan team asks for the model and year of manufacture before booking and checks that the shipment will not be held up on arrival.
Shipping cartons, parcels and suitcases from Taif to Qatar
Most shipments from Taif to Qatar are not whole homes but cartons, suitcases and parcels: clothes, books and small appliances, family gifts at holiday times, and things for someone who has already started a job in Doha while the family follows later. These go on consolidation runs, and Al Rahwan prices them from SAR 140 for a suitcase or travel bag, from SAR 120 for a carton of up to 30 kg, and from SAR 7.5 a kilo for a parcel charged by weight, with at least 5 kg counted.
| Small shipment | Starts from | When to choose it |
|---|---|---|
| Parcel charged by weight (5 kg and over) | SAR 7.5 per kg | A light parcel or a few separate items |
| Carton of 30 kg or less | SAR 120 | Books, clothes and kitchenware packed in one box |
| Travel bag | SAR 140 | Clothes and personal items in a locked suitcase |
Comparing the options is simple: a 10 kg parcel costs SAR 75 by weight, but if it weighs close to 30 kg the fixed carton price is better value than paying per kg. Many families in Taif pack their things into two or three large cartons rather than five small ones, paying less and making them easier to keep track of.
- Use a new strong carton; used cartons weaken at the corners with repeated lifting and unloading.
- Pack the heaviest things low and the lightest high, pushing clothes or paper into the gaps so nothing shifts.
- Seal the carton with wide tape on the top, bottom and edges.
- Write the receiver's name, Qatari phone number and city on two sides of the carton.
- Include a detailed contents list for each carton, as customs require it.
- Do not pack large amounts of perfume, flammable liquids or anything that softens or melts in a hot truck.
If you have no time to pack, you can leave the job to the Al Rahwan team: they arrive with cartons and packing materials, pack your things, draw up the list and number the cartons, then give you a copy to check against in Qatar.
Commercial shipping from Taif to Qatar
Taif has well-known products with steady demand in Qatar, most famously rose water, Taif rose oil and honey, along with highland produce such as pomegranates, grapes and figs in season, and goods from the city's factories and workshops. Al Rahwan moves commercial goods from Taif by the cubic metre on consolidation runs from SAR 415 per cubic metre, or in a dedicated full truck from SAR 2,300 when the load is large or needs a fixed date.
| Type of commercial shipment | Pricing | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Goods by cubic metre (part load) | From SAR 415 per m³ | Charged on the actual space used in the truck |
| Dedicated full truck | From SAR 2,300 | From the warehouse or farm straight to the receiver's address |
| Pallets | Request an itemised quote | Depends on number, dimensions and weight |
| Commercial container via Hamad Port | Itemised quote per container | For large commercial shipments only |
Liquids such as rose water need special packing: sealed bottles, cartons with dividers so the glass does not touch, cartons kept upright and never upside down, and nothing heavy loaded on top. Honey is packed in leak-proof containers and kept out of direct heat as far as possible. Fresh fruit is a different matter, because it needs refrigerated transport and a short lead time, so it is discussed on request according to quantity and season.
Traders need three papers in order: the commercial registration, an invoice whose values match the goods, and a packing list giving the carton count and the weight of each line; and certain goods need an origin certificate as well. Al Rahwan helps arrange these documents, but the accuracy of the invoice and its match with the goods are the trader's responsibility, because any mismatch between the two is the main reason commercial shipments are held at the crossing.
Sea freight is only used from Taif for large commercial containers heading to Hamad Port, a special case priced on its own. Every other shipment, from a parcel to a whole home, goes by road via Salwa because it is the shortest, fastest and simplest route.
Air freight from Taif to Qatar
Air freight is the option when a shipment cannot wait three days: official papers, an urgent spare part, personal prescription medicine, or samples for a customer in Doha. An air shipment from Taif to Qatar usually arrives in 24 to 48 hours. It is taken from Taif to King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, flown to Hamad International Airport in Doha and delivered to the address after clearance. There is no fixed air price per kg, so you request an itemised quote based on chargeable weight and flight timing.
How is weight calculated in air freight?
Airlines do not charge on actual weight alone; they compare it with volumetric weight and charge whichever is greater. To get the volumetric figure, multiply length, width and height in centimetres and divide by 6000. A bulky carton of light things is therefore billed for the space it takes, and a small dense one for what it weighs.
| Shipment | Size in centimetres | Weight by volume | Weight on the scale | Weight you pay on |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Carton of blankets and bedding | 70 × 50 × 45 | 157,500 ÷ 6000 = 26.25 kg | 15 kg | 26.25 kg |
| Box of rose water bottles | 45 × 35 × 30 | 47,250 ÷ 6000 = about 7.9 kg | 16 kg | 16 kg |
In the first example you pay for 26.25 kg even though the carton weighs only 15 kg, because blankets are light and puffy. Compress the same blankets in vacuum bags and split them into smaller cartons, and the volumetric weight drops. In the second example the actual weight is greater than the volumetric weight, so the real weight is charged. That is why we recommend sending large light items by road and keeping air freight for things that are small and genuinely urgent.
Bear in mind that perfumes, oud oil, aerosols and large batteries are treated as restricted goods in air freight; they may need a special permit or be refused on the aircraft, so mention them before booking. They are often better shipped by road in sealed cartons.

Which documents do you need to ship from Taif to Qatar?
Four documents form the core when you ship from Taif to Qatar: a photocopy of the sender's ID card or iqama, a list setting out what the shipment contains, a Fasah authorisation letting the broker act in your name, and the Qatari receiver's name, phone and address. The extras then vary: a trader adds the invoice, packing list and trade licence, and a car owner adds the vehicle's registration card, plates and export certificate. The table below sets out what you need for each type of shipment:
| Shipment type | Documents required |
|---|---|
| Personal items, cartons and suitcases | Contents list for every carton, the sender's ID or iqama (a copy), a broker authorisation on Fasah, plus name, phone and address of whoever receives in Qatar |
| Household or villa furniture | ID or iqama, detailed furniture list by piece and room, Fasah authorisation, receiver's details, and proof of relocation if requested (such as a tenancy or employment contract in Qatar) |
| Commercial goods | Commercial invoice with correct values, packing list with weights, copy of the trade licence, origin certificate if asked for, broker authorisation, name of the Qatari importer |
| Car | Owner's ID, istimara (registration card), export certificate from the traffic department, the plates, if a bank still finances the car, its clearance letter, and authorisation for transport and clearance |
| Air shipment | The same documents according to its type, plus exact dimensions and weight and a clear description of each piece |
Make sure the Qatari receiver's phone number works and is answered, as the driver calls before arrival and Qatar Customs may call if it needs clarification. If the receiver is someone other than the shipment's owner, give their full name exactly as it appears on their ID.
Customs clearance in two systems: Saudi Fasah and Qatari Al Nadeeb
A Taif shipment is cleared twice, once on each side of the border. In the Kingdom its details go onto Fasah, the clearance portal overseen by ZATCA, before the truck gets to Salwa, and the customs broker is given an authorisation to act for you. On the Qatari side the second stage runs on Al Nadeeb, the system Qatar Customs uses to clear shipments electronically: the declaration goes in through it, any charges owed on the load are settled, and the status can be followed step by step.
| Stage | What happens | Your part |
|---|---|---|
| In Taif before loading | Paperwork checked and details registered on Fasah | Hand over ID, list and authorisation |
| Salwa crossing | Load matched against the declared details, inspection if required | Nothing; the broker handles it |
| Abu Samra crossing | Qatari declaration through Al Nadeeb and inspection | Keep the receiver's phone available |
| After entering Qatar | Truck routed to the city and delivery time set | Confirm the address and time |
What Qatar charges at the border comes down to what kind of goods are on the truck, how much they are worth, and the regulations in force when they cross: second-hand household effects are not handled like new stock meant for resale, and vehicles follow rules of their own. Al Rahwan does not give you an estimated duty figure before the broker has reviewed your shipment, because a wrong figure is worse than none. What you can do to speed up the whole stage is provide an honest, detailed contents list. The words “household items” alone are not enough; better is “Carton 4: winter clothes, 6 pieces; university textbooks, 15 books”.
Prohibited and restricted items to keep out of your shipment
Some items are banned from crossing altogether and others need a permit in advance, and hiding any of them in the cartons can get the entire truckload stopped, not only the box in question. These are the main ones:
- Weapons, ammunition, fireworks and anything resembling a weapon.
- Narcotics and banned substances, and medicines in large quantities without a prescription.
- Gas cylinders, fuel, flammable materials and large numbers of pressurised aerosols.
- Cash, gold, valuable jewellery and irreplaceable documents; keep these with you.
- Fresh perishable food unless specially arranged in advance.
- Plants, seeds and soil unless the required agricultural permits are in place.
- Counterfeit goods or items bearing fake trademarks.
- Any item that the Qatari authorities only admit with prior approval under the regulations that apply when you ship.
Not sure whether something is allowed? Ask before packing; it is far easier to leave it out at the start than to have the carton opened at the crossing and the shipment delayed because of it.
Insurance and compensation: what if a piece is damaged?
Al Rahwan is responsible for the shipment from the moment it is collected in Taif until it is delivered in Qatar, and if a piece is damaged or lost in transit its owner is compensated under the agreement signed before shipping. This rests on two things: the condition report and photos taken before loading, and the contents list you sign when we collect. If a piece arrives with damage that was not recorded in the report, that is clear to both sides without argument.
For high-value items such as luxury furniture, antiques or a rare car, insurance cover can be added to the shipment based on its declared value. The key rule is to declare the real value, because compensation is calculated on what was declared, not on what is claimed after the damage. On delivery, inspect the pieces before signing for them and note any issue at once with a photo.
Tracking your shipment from Taif to Doha
After loading, the shipment is not left unmonitored. The Al Rahwan team updates you at each stage: collection in Taif, the truck's departure, its arrival at the Salwa crossing, its crossing to Abu Samra, then its entry into Qatar and the delivery time. The line is open daily from 7 am to 11 pm, by phone or WhatsApp, so you can ask where your shipment is whenever you like instead of waiting to hear.
The driver or delivery coordinator calls the receiver in Qatar well before arrival to confirm they will be at the address and where the truck should stop, especially in residential compounds and towers that need advance permission from security or building management.
Temporary storage between Taif and Qatar
Moving-out day in Taif can come before your home in Qatar is ready: the lease here ends before the keys there are handed over, or the employee goes ahead to start work and the furniture has to wait a few weeks. In that case your things are wrapped and kept in the warehouse, then shipped on the date that suits you, or they are shipped now and held in Qatar until the address is ready. This is a service you ask for when you need it; it is priced on volume and number of days and appears in the quote as a line of its own.
Booking steps with Al Rahwan from Taif
- Call or message 0568829975: tell us the type of shipment, your district in Taif and the destination city in Qatar.
- Send photos or a list: photos of the furniture, entrance and stairs, or the number and rough weights of your cartons, or the car's details.
- Receive the itemised quote: every service item, the expected transit time and the type of run, direct or consolidated.
- Prepare the documents: ID or iqama, the signed Fasah authorisation, contact details for the person receiving, plus whatever your type of shipment adds.
- Collection day: the team arrives on time to wrap, dismantle, number and load, and the contents list is signed.
- Tracking and delivery: updates up to the crossing and into Qatar, delivery and assembly at the address, and a check of every piece against the list.
It is worth booking early for the summer holidays, because Taif is a summer resort where demand for removals rises as owners of seasonal homes return, coinciding with job and study moves. Outside the summer peak, dates are much easier to get, and a small shipment often leaves on the first consolidation run after booking.
Delivery across Qatar
Al Rahwan delivers Taif shipments to every city and area in Qatar, not just Doha. The difference between areas is in timing rather than possibility: cities close to the road from Abu Samra are reached first, while areas in the north or west take a little longer on delivery day.
| City or area in Qatar | What delivery there involves |
|---|---|
| Doha (West Bay, Al Sadd, Al Waab, Bin Mahmoud, Al Gharrafa) | Towers, flats and compounds needing coordination with security and lifts |
| The Pearl and Lusail | Tall towers where an external lift is used when needed |
| Al Rayyan and Ain Khaled | Villas and spacious compounds, usually loaded at the door |
| Al Wakrah and Al Wukair | Close to the road from the border, so delivery is quick |
| Mesaieed | Industrial area and staff housing, suited to commercial shipments |
| Umm Salal and Al Daayen | North of Doha, villas and detached houses |
| Al Khor and Ras Laffan | In the north-east, with the delivery time agreed in advance |
| Al Shahaniya and Dukhan | Out west; deliveries there are arranged on a fixed day |
| Al Ruwais and the north | The far north, with the date agreed at booking |
Delivery in Qatar includes unloading the furniture, carrying it into the rooms, reassembling it and setting it out: the job does not end at the front door but when every piece is in its place. The best thing you can do before the truck arrives is decide where each room is in the new home, so that when the crew sees “Room 2” on a carton they put it straight there without waiting for directions for every piece.
Common mistakes when shipping from Taif to Qatar
- Leaving the booking to the end of summer: Taif dates fill up in the resort season, narrowing your choice.
- A vague contents list: the word “belongings” is not enough at the crossing, and a detailed list saves hours.
- Wrapping furniture while it is damp: on misty or rainy days in the highlands, a damp piece sealed in plastic suffers on the road.
- Hiding perfumes and liquids among clothes: they may leak or be treated as restricted items and delay the shipment.
- Sending large light items by air: volumetric weight makes them far more expensive than their owner expects.
- A Qatari phone number that is not answered: it delays delivery and disrupts coordination with customs.
- Leaving belongings inside a shipped car: cars are shipped empty, and items inside raise questions at inspection.
- Not mentioning the floor or the lack of a lift: it changes the crew size and sometimes calls for a lift that was not priced in.
- No bank letter for a car still under finance: without it the car stays where it is.
Why do people in Taif choose Al Rahwan for shipping to Qatar?
Al Rahwan does far more than the Qatar run: the company ships worldwide, overland, by sea and by air, keeping air for loads that cannot wait. But the Taif to Qatar route is one of the most requested, because the two are linked by work, family and trade, and because the shipper wants to know from the start when the belongings will arrive, how much they will pay and who will follow them to the door. That is why the same number stays with you from the first call until you sign for delivery: 0568829975.
