Al Rahwan is a shipping company from Qassim to the UAE that collects your shipment from Buraydah, Unaizah, Ar Rass or Al Bukayriyah and moves it by road on trucks via Riyadh and Al Ahsa to the Batha crossing, opposite the UAE’s Ghuwaifat crossing. General cargo arrives door to door in 3 to 4 days, cars in 3 to 5 days and air freight in 24 to 48 hours. A carton starts from SAR 140, a room or studio of furniture from SAR 1,300 and a sedan on a shared carrier from SAR 1,100. To book or ask about your shipment, call 0568829975.

Qassim has a character of its own: neighbouring towns separated by palm farms, spacious houses with courtyards and annexes, rest-house compounds on the edges of town, a dates market that surges every season, and busy farming and food trades. All of that changes how we collect and pack compared with a crowded city of towers. On this page we cover what is specific to Qassim: how we collect from its towns and villages, how we handle furniture from large houses and rest houses, how your car reaches Dubai or Abu Dhabi, and what we do with dates and agricultural cargo.
The Route from Qassim to the Batha Crossing
There is no UAE land crossing anywhere near the middle of the Kingdom. The only route is the Batha crossing, which faces Ghuwaifat on the UAE side. To get there, the truck leaves Qassim for Riyadh and joins the regular departures that run through Al Ahsa and then drop down towards Batha. Most cargo from Qassim is consolidated through Riyadh anyway, which works in your favour: the truck does not wait to fill up with Qassim shipments alone, it joins a bigger load with more regular schedules.
As for position, Qassim is farther from the border than Riyadh but closer than Madinah, Makkah or Tabuk, so its transit time sits in between: roughly a day longer than shipments from Riyadh or Dammam. At the border, the Saudi side is handled through Fasah, the ZATCA platform, and the UAE side is completed through Mirsal 2, Dubai Customs’ system. The Al Rahwan team follows both ends until the shipment clears the yard.
To picture the journey day by day: on the first day we collect, wrap and inventory the shipment in Qassim, and the same day or the next morning it moves to Riyadh, where it is stacked with the UAE load. The truck then heads east towards Al Ahsa, stopping on the way for rest according to the drivers’ schedule, before reaching Batha, where customs procedures begin on both sides. After Ghuwaifat the shipments split up across the emirates, each heading to its recipient’s address. The transit time we quote covers all of this, not just the driving.
Why doesn’t a truck run from Qassim straight to the border? Because the cost of running a truck on a long trip is shared across a number of shipments, and if it ran with a small load the price would rise for every customer. When your shipment joins the Riyadh line it shares that cost with others, and departures stay regular even in weeks when requests from Qassim itself are fewer.

| From Qassim to | Expected delivery | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Abu Dhabi and Al Ain | 3 to 4 days | Closest to the Ghuwaifat crossing |
| Dubai | 3 to 4 days | The most requested destination from Qassim |
| Sharjah and Ajman | 3 to 4 days | About half a day after Dubai |
| Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah | 4 to 5 days | Northern and eastern emirates |
Where We Collect from in Qassim
Qassim is not one city but a cluster of close-together towns, and each has its own rhythm. Buraydah is the largest and has most of the requests, Unaizah is close by and known for its orderly neighbourhoods and markets, and Ar Rass, Al Bukayriyah, Al Mithnab and Riyadh Al Khabra are towns with requests of their own. We usually combine nearby requests into one collection run so that no customer pays for a full trip alone.
| Town | Examples of what we collect | Type of collection |
|---|---|---|
| Buraydah | Al Iskan, As Safra and the rest of the city and its edges | Villas, flats and houses, plus warehouses near the dates market |
| Unaizah | The city’s neighbourhoods, its edges and farms | Spacious houses and rest houses |
| Ar Rass | Inside the town and surrounding villages | Houses, family and student shipments |
| Al Bukayriyah, Al Mithnab and Riyadh Al Khabra | Inside the towns and their villages | We fix a collection time to fit the nearest departure |
| Farms and rest houses | Around the larger towns | Sometimes unpaved tracks, so we agree the loading point in advance |
If you are in a small village far from the larger towns, just tell us its name and drop a pin on the map. We will say whether we can collect from your door or meet you in the nearest town. What matters is that you confirm before collection day that the road to your house can take a large truck.
Collection times in Qassim are affected by the heat. In the summer months we prefer to load early in the morning or after the afternoon prayer, because the crew works faster and wooden furniture and appliances are not exposed to fierce heat in the street. In winter loading is easy at any hour, but the morning cold can slow work on open farms. We agree a two-hour window with you and call about an hour before arriving, so you do not wait long at home.
Shipping Prices from Qassim to the UAE
From Qassim, Al Rahwan uses the same starting figures we publish for the UAE route, so the price does not go up just because you are outside Riyadh. Every figure below is the usual minimum. The final price depends on the town, the weight or volume and the emirate of delivery, and we then send you an itemised quote so you can see where every riyal goes.
What pushes a price above the starting figure? Usually four things: volumetric weight when items are light and bulky, the number of floors and lack of a lift for furniture, a loading point far from the main road, as with farms and rest houses, and the emirate of delivery if it is one of the northern ones. What brings it down is the opposite: compact packing, early sorting, a combined request with a family or neighbours and flexibility on collection day. We add no line after agreeing a quote unless the description it was built on has changed, and we tell you before acting on it.

| Parcel up to 5 kg | SAR 110 |

| Full flat of furniture | SAR 4,100 |
| Villa furniture | SAR 8,300 |

Moving Furniture from Qassim: Big Houses, Dust and Rest Houses
Furniture in Qassim tends to be bigger than flat furniture in other cities: long Arabic majlis seating, wide bedrooms, large wardrobes and dining tables for extended families. That makes sorting before loading very important, because every unnecessary piece takes up more of the truck and raises the cost. Before the crew arrives, we suggest you sort your furniture into three groups: what will definitely be shipped, what you will sell before you leave and what stays with relatives.
The region has one more quirk: dust. In some seasons it creeps into rooms and storerooms, so we cover mattresses, seating and wooden surfaces with clean sheets before the outer wrapping, and we do not seal leather and wood in airtight plastic for long periods, so that moisture does not get trapped inside. If your furniture is in a rest house or an outdoor annex, leave us time to clean and air it before loading, because furniture that has been stored for a long time needs a closer inspection.
Antiques, chandeliers, large glass pieces and sensitive appliances can be placed, on request, in sealed wooden crates that Al Rahwan builds to the size of each piece, so they stay fixed inside the truck for the whole long journey from Qassim to Batha. This option suits anything that cannot take a knock and would be hard to replace, such as old mirrors and inherited decorative pieces.
Arabic majlis furniture in Qassim gets special handling: floor cushions and backrests, long seating runs and big carpets. The Al Rahwan crew beats, folds or rolls carpets and ties them so they take no more space than necessary, dismantle fixed backrests where they come apart, and carry long sofas with two or more people, with the corners protected. Split air-conditioners, fridges and washing machines are drained and their moving parts secured before loading, and we advise having them reinstalled by a technician in the UAE rather than switching them on the moment they arrive.
| Size of move | Price starts from | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Room or studio | SAR 1,300 | Loaded in about half a day |
| Small flat | SAR 2,500 | Usually one day |
| Full flat | SAR 4,100 | A crew of four or more |
| Villa or large house | SAR 8,300 | One to two days, with full dismantling and fitting |

- We ask for photos of the majlis, bedrooms, kitchen and any heavy or dismantled pieces.
- We decide the crew size and truck type based on floors, entrances and the distance from door to truck.
- We dismantle beds and wardrobes, wrap every piece and protect glass and mirrors with separate boards.
- We number the cartons and pieces and record them in a single list that you check with us before we leave.
- We stack the load by weight, with heavy items at the bottom and light, fragile ones on top, secured with straps.
- We reassemble on delivery in the UAE if you ask, and photograph the pieces before and after delivery.
Car Shipping from Qassim to Dubai and Abu Dhabi
Many people in Qassim ship their cars because they have moved to work in the UAE, bought a car there or sold theirs in the Gulf market. The car travels loaded on a carrier, not driven along the road, so it adds no miles and its engine and tyres are not worn down. Once loaded, it is covered and fixed in place with straps and wheel restraints, and photographed from every side before departure and on arrival.
One case comes up repeatedly in Qassim: a car bought from a showroom in Buraydah or Unaizah that its owner wants sent straight to the UAE. Here the ownership must be clear and the papers in order before collection, and there should be no outstanding fines. Al Rahwan goes through the papers with you before the carrier moves, and if something is missing we either find a fix or tell you the alternative, rather than loading a car that could be held at the border over a paperwork defect.
| Car | Shared carrier | Open flatbed | Enclosed carrier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sedan | 1,100 | 1,650 | — |
| SUV | 1,400 | 2,050 | — |
| Luxury or classic | — | — | 2,300 |
The shared carrier is cheaper for anyone who is not in a hurry, because the car waits for the load to fill. The open flatbed suits someone who wants a clearer date, with the car alone on the carrier. For luxury, classic and new cars, an enclosed carrier is best, since it shields them from dust and small stones on the long road. Before handover we ask you to empty the car of personal belongings, leave the fuel low and photograph any existing scratches so the condition matches on arrival. Prices in the table are in SAR and start from the figures shown.

Cartons and Personal Belongings from Qassim
Students at Qassim University and other colleges, employees moving to the UAE and families sending gifts and supplies to relatives all ship cartons. Dates are among the most common things sent from Qassim. Packed dates ship without trouble, but fresh fruit and chilled products spoil quickly and have conditions of their own, so ask us before shipping if yours is one of them. Cartons are dropped at a collection point or picked up from your door, and they travel on a shared departure.
- Use new reinforced cartons, because the road is long and the vibration constant.
- Put a list of contents inside every carton and number the cartons.
- Wrap small appliances in their original boxes or two layers of bubble wrap.
- Put fragile items on top and avoid very heavy cartons.
- Keep boxes of dates tightly sealed and away from clean items such as clothes.
Commercial Shipping from Qassim
Qassim is a farming and trading region. Packed dates, dry food products, irrigation and farming supplies, spare parts and consumer goods all leave from here. You can ship by pallet, container or full truck, with Al Rahwan’s prices starting from SAR 740 per pallet, SAR 2,300 for a 20 ft container, SAR 3,500 for a 40 ft container and SAR 6,500 for a trailer. With dates in particular, we make sure the packing is clean and the wrapping protects the boxes from dust and humidity, and we avoid mixing dates with strongly scented goods.
The harvest season in Qassim has a direct effect on shipping. In the weeks when dates are picked and sold, demand for trucks rises and traders’ dates bunch together, so we advise booking your place well before the season and preparing pallets before the truck arrives. Anyone who trades with the UAE regularly benefits from agreeing a fixed schedule, so goods arrive on known dates, the seasonal rush is avoided and repeat shipments get a clearer quote.
The commercial paperwork is the same on every shipment: a commercial invoice, a packing list, and the importer’s details and registration. We prepare it with you before departure so the load does not stall at the border over something minor. Food and agricultural products may need certificates or conditions from the importing side, so we ask you about them before collection and guide you according to the type of goods.

Air Freight from Qassim to the UAE
Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Regional Airport lies west of Buraydah and handles domestic and international flights. Air freight is the choice when a shipment is small and urgent: documents, samples, devices, spare parts, medicines with a permit. It normally arrives within 24 to 48 hours. Sometimes it is quicker to send the shipment by road to Riyadh and fly it from there, depending on the airline routes available, so Al Rahwan suggests the best path once it knows the weight and the deadline. Furniture and cars are not suited to air freight.
What really deserves air freight? Things that are light and valuable or urgent: work documents and contracts, commercial samples a client is waiting for, an electronic device, a spare part holding up production, a medicine with a permit. Cartons of clothes and household things are far cheaper by road, and a day or two makes no difference to them. If you have a mix of both, we split the shipment: the urgent part by air and the rest by road on the shared departure, so you pay for air only where it is needed.
Documents Required to Ship from Qassim
What documents do you need to ship from Qassim to the UAE? For individuals, an ID or iqama, a list of contents, a Fasah authorisation for the customs broker and the recipient’s details and mobile number are usually enough. Commercial goods need a commercial registration, a commercial invoice and a packing list, and a car needs its registration card, its plates and an export certificate. Al Rahwan checks the papers at least one day before loading, and the table below sets them out by type of shipment.
| Type of shipment | Documents required | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Personal belongings and cartons | ID or iqama, list of contents, Fasah authorisation for the broker, recipient’s details and mobile number | Number the cartons so the list matches what is on the truck |
| Household furniture | ID or iqama, list of pieces, Fasah authorisation, delivery address | The same numbered list is checked on delivery in the UAE |
| Commercial goods | Commercial registration, commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin when requested, importer’s details | Dates and food products may need extra certificates from the importing side |
| Car | Registration card, plates, export certificate, owner’s ID, bank letter if the car is financed, authorisation if the sender is not the owner | Fines and ownership are checked before the carrier moves |
| Medicines and chilled food | Permit from the relevant authority, invoice or prescription, recipient’s details | Accepted once their conditions are confirmed under the regulations in force at the time of shipping |
Do not wait until collection day to prepare these papers. Photograph your ID and the recipient’s in advance, prepare the list of furniture or cartons in clear writing, and if the car is registered in someone else’s name ask for the authorisation early, since some offices need days to issue it. The more complete the papers are when they reach us before loading, the shorter the stop at the border and the sooner the shipment moves on to the recipient.
Customs at the Batha and Ghuwaifat Crossings
Every shipment from Qassim to the UAE passes through two customs posts: Batha on the Saudi side, then Ghuwaifat on the UAE side a few kilometres on. At Batha the export declaration is filed through Fasah, and the truck goes through X-ray scanning or a manual inspection depending on the load, before crossing to Ghuwaifat, where the import declaration is filed and the load is matched against the documents. The broker Al Rahwan works with handles both sides, so you do not need to be at the border.
The crossing usually takes from a few hours to about a day, and that sits within the stated 3 to 4 days. What usually drags it out is a mismatch between the list and the actual contents, an undeclared restricted item or an incomplete commercial invoice. Any duties and taxes are calculated according to the type and value of the shipment and the regulations in force at the time of shipping, and used personal belongings are treated differently from goods meant for sale. Al Rahwan’s itemised quote states whether customs clearance is included or charged as a separate line, so nothing catches you out at the crossing.
Prohibited and Restricted Items
Al Rahwan does not accept drugs, weapons, explosives, flammable materials, counterfeit goods or hazardous chemicals without a licence. Medicines, chilled foods and large batteries need a permit or special packing. In Qassim we single out farm pesticides, fertilisers and fuel: these are restricted materials and are never shipped alongside furniture or cartons.
We also flag items that look ordinary but are restricted: pressurised air fresheners, lighters, small gas canisters and some flammable household products, as well as perishable food that cannot survive days on the road. Before you close a carton, go through its contents with us, because taking out one item can save the whole shipment from being rejected at inspection.
Shipment Insurance and Compensation for Damage
Protecting your shipment starts with packing and records: every piece is numbered and photographed at collection in Qassim, and the same list is checked on delivery in the UAE. If a piece is damaged in transit, Al Rahwan reviews the collection and delivery photos and the numbered list, and compensates you according to what was agreed in the quote. For villa furniture, a luxury car or high-value goods, additional insurance is available on request, calculated on the value you declare.
Our practical advice: declare a realistic value for expensive pieces, photograph them yourself before packing, and inspect the shipment with the delivery crew present, noting any remark on the spot. A remark recorded at the door is far easier to follow up than one that turns up days after the cartons are opened.
Tracking Your Shipment from Qassim to Delivery
Your shipment does not disappear once it leaves your house. The Al Rahwan team sends you an update at every main stage: collection in Qassim, arrival in Riyadh and joining the UAE load, arrival at Batha, clearance at Ghuwaifat and, finally, the delivery time. A customer service agent contacts the recipient in the UAE to agree the delivery time and method, so they are ready when the truck arrives.
Customer service is available every day of the week from 7 am to 11 pm, by phone or WhatsApp on 0568829975 or through Al Rahwan’s social media accounts. Keep the shipment number you receive at collection, as it is the quickest way to ask where your shipment is.
Storage Before Shipping or After Arrival
The day you leave your house in Qassim often does not match the day your home in the UAE is ready: you may hand back the house a week before you travel, or the furniture may arrive while the recipient is still waiting for the keys to a flat in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. For these cases Al Rahwan offers short-term storage on request, before shipping or on arrival, with the furniture kept wrapped and numbered just as it was until delivery day.
Storage is priced by volume and duration and appears as a separate line in the itemised quote. The best thing you can do is mention it when you book rather than on loading day, so space is arranged and the shipment’s release from the warehouse is timed to match delivery.
Booking Steps with Al Rahwan from Qassim
- Tell us your town, neighbourhood or village, the type of shipment and the city of delivery.
- Send photos or a list of contents so we can work out the weight or volume.
- You receive an itemised quote and an estimated collection date.
- We collect, wrap, inventory and photograph the shipment at your door.
- The truck heads to Riyadh, then Al Ahsa, then Batha.
- Border procedures are completed and the shipment enters the UAE.
- We deliver to the recipient’s door and ask them to confirm receipt.
Once you approve the quote, you can pay by bank transfer, mada card, credit card or Apple Pay. The cost of a shipment is worked out from the actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher, the distance, the shipping method and extra services such as special packing or storage. Once you know these four elements, you will see why your shipment is priced differently from your neighbour’s.
Delivery in the Seven Emirates
Al Rahwan delivers to Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. Shipments for Abu Dhabi and Al Ain arrive first because they are closest to Ghuwaifat, then Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman, then the northern and eastern emirates, which add half a day to a day. A location pin and a contact number for the recipient help us a great deal.
In the UAE the nature of delivery varies with the type of housing: villas in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Sharjah accept a large truck at the door, while towers in Dubai and Ajman often need permission from management and a booked service lift. We speak to the recipient a day before arrival and agree a convenient time, so the truck does not stand for hours waiting for permission.
How to Calculate Your Road Freight Cost
We charge the higher of the actual weight and the volumetric weight, and for road freight the volumetric weight is length × width × height in centimetres ÷ 5000. A 70 × 50 × 40 cm carton gives 140,000 ÷ 5,000 = 28 kg volumetric. If its actual weight is 12 kg, it is charged as 28, which falls in the bag or carton up to 30 kg class that starts from SAR 230. The less empty space inside the carton, the lower the number and the lower the cost.
The Cheapest Way to Ship from Qassim
- Combine shipments from your family or neighbours into one request on a shared departure.
- Leave behind anything that would cost more to ship than it is worth, by sorting first.
- Choose the shared carrier for your car if you are not in a hurry.
- Pack cartons tightly to reduce the chargeable volume.
- Drop light cartons at a collection point instead of asking for door collection.
What saves customers most in Qassim is timing. Anyone who ships outside the peak weeks finds more flexibility on dates, and anyone who books a few days before collection picks the time that suits them instead of accepting what is left. And do not pay for what you do not need: if your shipment is a few cartons, do not book a truck, and if you are shipping a car without urgency, do not pay for an open flatbed.
Common Mistakes When Shipping from Qassim
Another common mistake is estimating by eye. Some people say their furniture fills half a truck and it turns out to be more, or assume their cartons are light and are surprised by the volumetric weight. Photos and measurements solve the problem before it starts, so send them early and we will tell you frankly what suits you and what will cost more than you expect.
Why Choose Al Rahwan for Shipping from Qassim
What sets our dealings with Qassim customers apart is that we do not treat them as marginal requests far from Riyadh. We know that a family here is moving a whole house, that a trader is waiting for a particular season and that a car owner wants to see the car arrive as it left. So we write down the steps and dates for you, photograph the shipment at collection and at delivery, and stay in touch until the recipient confirms that everything arrived safely.
The UAE is one of the most requested destinations from Qassim, but it is not the only one: Al Rahwan ships from Qassim to every country in the world by land, sea and air, with air freight for urgent shipments. If you have a shipment for another destination after the UAE, ask about it on the same call to 0568829975.

Yes, from Unaizah, Ar Rass, Al Bukayriyah, Al Mithnab, Riyadh Al Khabra and nearby villages, and we group close requests into one collection run to cut the cost. Send your location pin so we can confirm the time and loading point.

Do you offer furniture storage before shipping or after arrival?
Yes, short-term storage is available on request, before shipping from Qassim or on arrival in the UAE if the recipient is not ready, with furniture kept wrapped and numbered. It is priced by volume and duration in the itemised quote.

Every piece is numbered and photographed at collection, and if it is damaged in transit Al Rahwan compensates you according to what was agreed in the quote. Additional insurance for furniture, cars and high-value goods is available on request, based on the declared value.
Do I need a full truck or is a shared departure enough?
A full trailer starts from SAR 6,500 and suits large villas and big commercial loads. For a room, a flat or a few cartons, a shared departure costs far less. Send us your list and photos and we will suggest what fits.
